Comics with Tony November 8th 2017

November 13, 2017

What's up comic fans?  What a fun week of comics first off locally we had some big shake ups in the comic book world, Super Hero Beach and Super Hero Hive were bought out by Colosseum of Comics effective immediately and the changes are already creating a buzz.  The very next day Gotham City Limits was sold and we will see changes coming the beginning of the year.  Having more options for back issues and more variety in town is going to be great for all of us!

In big industry news Brian Michael Bendis has signed an exclusive deal with DC Comics which is an interesting topic for debate, is this the beginning of the end for Marvel as the face of the company for the last 20 years is switching sides?  or Is it good riddance as his stories have been part of the decline in Marvel over the last few years?  Either way I am excited to see if he pulls a Kirby when he shifted to DC and demands to work on the worst selling book to improve it or if he jumps on something already established and successful.

On to the books, in the store our pick of the week was Alien Toilet Monster which was fun with an interesting twist.  From Marvel this week I really enjoyed Moon Knight 188 bringing in a new villain into the Moon Knight lore, Daredevil 595 Wilson Fisk is the mayor and Daredevil is now public enemy #1, and my most anticipated book of the week Master of Kung Fu 126 was funny and worth a read as a one shot.  DC Comics kept the Metal train rolling with Batman Lost and Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps 32 which both kept the story rolling and continue to leave the readers wanting more, Action Comics 991 is part 5 of the OZ effect, Batgirl and Harley keep the fun going in Gotham City Garage 3.  Image comics delivers with Slots #2, Port of Earth and Coyotes had new first issues, and Jeff lamire's Royal City.  AfterShock has Pestilence #5 continuing to build up the awesomeness, Boom! Studios Grass Kings continues to be awesome every issue, and for horror fans Sink #2 was still really awesome.

Those are the books I read this week, hopefully I did not spoil anything I tried not to.  What did you enjoy this week?
