Another great week is in the books here at House of Comics and Games. First and foremost I want to thank everyone for the generosity this weekend in support of our fundraiser for young Brayden the 3 year old fighting cancer. We cleared out the store room and let everyone hunt for those missing books with a great response so many people were able to find exactly what they were looking for.
Wednesday the long awaited release of Starfinder from Paizo finally hit the shelves and people were happy after months of hype that it lived up to expectations.
Thursday we had our Dungeons and Dragons group where only a couple deaths occurred this week so not too bad! Our Thursday night Heroclix tournament continues to grow, this week we had a battle royal which had everyone on their feet. Congrats to Brandon for dominating the field. Friday we had the much anticipated release of the Magic the Gathering 2017 Commander decks. These things are hot and moving fast.
Fridy night the River City Gamer Squad were in the house streaming their podcast live, if you have not checked them out yet you are missing out they are awesome. The comics that came out that I liked this week were dominated by Image with the sad conclusion of Plastic, Redneck #5, The Hard Place #1 (no I am not just biased because it was in Detroit), and our book of the week Shirtless Bear Fighter #3. If you have not checked out Shirtless Bear Fighter yet you are missing out on a great laugh. Marvel had a solid week with the Thor Generations book, Edge of Venomverse #5 (who doesn't love Deadpool Venom?), Secret Empire #9 and Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe Again #4. DC had a fairly quiet week but the new Nightwing book had everyone excited. Other notable books this week included Rick and Morty #29, The Dark Crystal #6, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #18, and a couple new books worth checking out Hi-Fi Fight Club and War Mother #1's.
