What an amazing week here at House of Comics and Games, Sunday we set up at the Jacksonville Comic and Toy Show
The turnout was awesome and we got opportunity to meet so many new people we could not have been happier and look forward to next year. New comics came in Tuesday and leading the pack this week was DC Comics Dark Knight Metal, we held our first Midnight Release Party and the turnout was better than expected. Maybe everyone was excited about the book or maybe the free cake!
Whatever the reason it was a ton of fun seeing a great turnout for a Tuesday night even though there was work and school the next morning.
For new comics this week not named Metal, some of the highlights were from Marvel Totally Awesome Hulk #22, Star Wars #34, Generations Wolverine X-23, and Luke Cage #4 just in time for the Defenders on Netflix. DC Comics had a very solid week with Batman #29, Wonder Woman #28, and a new Space Ghost book. Image Comics had a couple new titles the very wordy Spy Seal and Genius Cartel (kind of reminded me of the TV show Quanitco) they also returned with some favorites such as Southern Bastards #17, Invincible #139, I Hate Fairyland #15 (All three of which had oh crap moments) and Curse Words #7. Other great stuff this week from independents include Rick and Morty Pocket Like You Stole It #2, Neil Gaimen's American Gods #6, Briggs Land Lone Wolves #3, and Godshaper #5.
We got a huge shipment of trades in this week and got restocked on a lot of titles that we were either running low on or had sold out. We also restocked on short boxes and box houses this week to have all of your storage needs in stock. Then for all our D&D fans we are restocked on Chessex Dice Sets.
Those were the highlights of the week, again thank you for everyone coming out to the convention and the release party to support showing why Jacksonville has the best comic fans in the world. Those were the comics I liked this week can't wait to see what this nest week brings in the meantime I am off to continue watching Defenders.
